Smooth Hydrangea Hydrangea arborescens

Hydrangea Climbing Hydrangea Hydrangea anomala

The biggest flowers in the Hydrangea family can be found on this group. Flowers up to 10" across in either white or pink shades bloom every year even after severe pruning or cold winters. These are commonly grown as a hedge as well. They prefer morning sun and afternoon shade or dappled shade all day. One challenge of growing this group is the weight of the blooms. They become so large and heavy that they tend to bend to the ground. To help with this problem, you can plant them near a fence, plant a few of them together so they can support one another or surround a young plant with a wire fence. Zones 3-9 j p % ?
